June 12 Show and Tell

Michelle Crisler generated many smiles with the "tell" of her granddaughter's weekend wedding.  You see, Michelle and her husband live on historic property at the base of Mt. Mitchell Heritage Prairie Park south of Wamego, KS.  Michelle's granddaughter's request was to be married on her grandparent's prairie, which was lovingly cared for in advance of the special day.  Unfortunately, the Sunday before the wedding, the cows broke through their fence to get to that sweet prairie grass, savoring the treat, but also leaving behind...well, you know.  Michelle and Morris spent hours cleaning up these fresh cow pies to leave a more natural, more fragrant scent at the wedding venue.  To add to the wedding angst, showers were forecast for the time of the wedding.  The granddaughter's wish, though, was blessed by only a few sprinkles that abated as the ceremony began.  This couple will have a memorable wedding story to share over the years!
The showing began with Dona Koster sharing her quilt from the 2022 BOM Flappy Days. In addition, she shared the story of finding three paper-pieced blocks that her mother had done, but never had time to complete.  Dona had the treasured blocks framed and will share two of them with her sisters.
Kathy Triplett completed a long-term UFO titled Bleachers.  These rich colors will warm the hearts and bodies of whoever is cuddled underneath.
Montika Allen- Atkinson shared a Quilt of Valor titled simply Eagle after its main feature.  This QOV is going to a veteran in Indiana.  Thank you to the veteran for his service and to Montika for honoring it with this quilt.
Patty Nelson completed this colorful beauty, Enchanting Stars, from a Jaqueline de Jonge pattern.  I admire her patience in working with so many pieces and colors in creating this eye-stopping quilt.
