                   May 2024 Program

Our May program featured Mary Honas from Harper's Fabric and Quilt Shop in Overland Park, Kansas, sharing Finished Strategies for UFOs.  Or as described in other humorous labels: PHD, Project Half Done; WOMBAT, Waste of Money, Batting, and Time; WISP, Works in Slow Progress, and many others.  You can make up your own acronym for unfinished projects in your stash.

Mary shared a variety of tips for coping with UFOs:

1.  You don't always have to finish something.
2. Make a list of UFOs and prioritize your projects.
3.  Keep all companion fabrics for your project together and labeled.
4.  Go on a quilt retreat with dedicated time to finish a project.
5. Use a UFO to practice quilting techniques.
6.  Set a deadline or a specific purpose for a UFO for motivation.
7.  Ask others to help.
8.  Set aside time during your optimum work time of the day.
