Konza Prairie Quilters' Guild |
March Show and Share
President Vevia took the lead in our Show and Share time with an explanation of the painting and dyeing that she used to create her wall hanging, Bohemian Wrap. That was followed by an introduction to the Winging Chick Iron Tote (or whatever other gadgets you want it to hold). We quilters are a creative bunch, but a chicken iron holder...who would have thought?
Lori Gray's lovely tablerunner was a timely show and share since it coordinated with our program. Lori used Barb Eikmeier's book Back-Basting Applique' Step by Step and a book of alphabet designs.
Mimi Benedict wowed the audience with her "Tree of Life" wall hanging. A combination of Mimi's hand-dyed fabrics, thread art and intricate quilting make this quilt a true work of art.
Kathy Gathers shared a quilt that she and her sister, Chris, purchased. This turquoise and white vintage signature quilt was dated 1926 and is still in relatively good condition.
Ruth Prescott was heralding spring with her pretty apricot and white block of the month quilt.
Montika Allen-Atkinson's creativity was demonstrated with the use of orphan blocks and her African fabric.
Harriet Junke's daughter has put some of her mom's scraps to use making a collection of wall hangings.
