Konza Prairie Quilters' Guild |
Judy Vore was our guest for the February meeting, presenting the trunk show Panelmania 2. Who would have imagined that so many quilt designs can result from a full panel, partial panels, and puzzle panels? A few of Judy's tips include:
-Keep in mind the Circle of Nine design concept when planning out your quilt.
-Look to the fabric in your panels for inspiration for accent fabric and patterns to add interest to the quilt.
-Consider creating secondary pattern with sashing, borders, and cornerstones.
-Insert a striped fabric to add interest.
-Experiment with different settings or arrangements of the panel elements.
-Keep in mind that you don't have to use a whole panel in one project. It's okay to cut your panel apart.
-Even consider harvesting the edges when you cut panels to incorporate into the quilt as an embellishment.
Oh, boy...I'm ready to go panel shopping!
