The Konza Prairie Quilters' Guild and the Prairie Star Quilt Guild partnered to form the Kansas Prairie Quilts of Valor.
The mission of Quilts of Valor is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with a comforting and healing Quilt of Valor.
A Quilt of Valor is...
From the beginning, founder Catherine Roberts had definite ideas about standards of excellence for Quilts of Valor. "I knew a QOV had to be a quality-made quilt, not a 'charity quilt.' A QOV had to be quilted, not tied, which meant hand or machine quilting. I would be 'awarded,' not just passed out like magazines or videos, and would say unequivocally, 'Thank you for your service, sacrifice, and valor in serving our nation.'"
You are welcome to join our local group at an annual cost of $10 to sew, engage, and award Quilts of Valor.
