Konza Prairie Quilters' Guild |
While the number of members showing quilts in October was small, the projects were delightful. Dona Koster has a special veteran in mind to receive her Quilt of Valor which features an eagle panel. As November approaches, Donna Dawson's quilt reminds us to Give Thanks for our blessings. Elaine Shannon shared two quilts, the first of which was a remarkable project of wool applique' with embroidered embellishments. This Home Grown is a Sue Spargo pattern and was expertly quilted by Sue Lawson of Woodland Park, CO. Elaine's second quilt was Seed Pods, a colorful, fun collage quilt designed by Laura Heine. LuAnn Hoover was inspired by our August program, Needle 'n Thread to investigate stitching projects done by her mother. This lovely vase of flowers was created using a crewel technique and is now framed for posterity. Lynn Colquhoun gave us a preview of the November program by showing two Quilts of Valor that will be given away to honor veterans. Other QOVs will be given away in addition to these. Pam Russell also completed a collage quilt; this one features lovely watercolor fabrics used to create the nativity scene.
