October 2025 Show and Share

Show and Share is always a favorite part of our meetings. We have such talented members!

- Pam Russell layered and hand quilted this vintage pink star quilt. Wow!

-Lori Gray shared a Laura Heine designed Sunflower small quilt that Lori embellished with cording.

-Nancy Hubbard made a 3D Pinwheel quilt that will hopefully create some tactile playtime for a sweet babe. Nancy also has made Hug Shawls, for which she created a pattern after reading about others' designs. The Denim Shawl  has pockets on the inside so that it can be wrapped with the arms outside and was made for her brother who has cancer. The ladies' versions, which Nancy made in fall colors of brown and rust has pockets on the inside.

-Laura Soelter leaned toward paler fabrics this month with diamonds and sashing in shades of pink and gray.

-Vickie Greenwood' sweet little chick was a labor in patience. Note the detailed cross stitching that is then shaped into the bottom heavy pin cushion chick.  A second quilt is a Dawn Heath design called Chelsea that Vickie was awarded a first place ribbon for at the Kansas State Fair.  Vickie also made the lovely wool applique' and cotton quilt , which she refers to as her "Step It Up" quilt in a loving tribute to her husband Wayne. Beautiful work! Congratulations, Vickie!

-Donna Johnson shared a wall hanging that she began during a workshop earlier this year.

-Mary Jo Hawkinson is a grandmother extraordinaire! With over 30 grandchildren, she is still making quilts for new little ones.  Soon to arrive twins, a boy and a girl, will each receive a lovingly made quilt. Mary Jo shared the quilt for her new grandson, with her granddaughter's still in progress.

-Elaine Shannon was proud to reveal her Fresh Cut quilt, a Sue Spargo wool applique' design that was in the works for awhile (a long while), but will now find a happy hanging spot in her home.

-Michelle Crisler is combining her quilting skills with contemporary tech applications with her QR Code quilt that will accurately access the 4-H website. Michelle shared that each piece must be placed exactly right or the code cannot be read. How does she know this? It took her some dis-assembling and re-assembling of her quilt to get her code lines correct. Such patience and persistence! Michelle also shared a quilt top that she has made for a friend to gift to a great-grandchild. Uncertain which design was best, Michelle just made two.
