July Show and Share

Show and Share is always a highlight of every meeting when we witness the creativity and expertise of members.
Shown in the gallery this month are quilts made by:

  •  Mary Hibbs' showed a sewing machine pad, complete with pockets and a trash/scrap collector attached in made cheerful blue, yellow, and turquoise fabrics.
  • Carol Pacey's applique' wall hanging celebrates The Oz Theme with Toto featured in a basket.

  •  Alison McCullough shared a quilt made from a Connecting Threads pattern. This rainbow stash quilt will brighten the day for a lucky child, along with a second quilt from a Triple Barnstar pattern called "Traffic Jam."

  • Donna Van Guilder's patriotic table topper was made from a kit that was a gift from a friend. Good things come from Good Friends!

  • Cindy Kahrs' scrappy Churn Dash quilt was made from old plaid shirts, with the addition of a scrappy back. This memorable quilt is a gift for her grandson.

  • Sharri Steele made two quilts for her twin grandchildren (1 boy 1 girl) that started out as baby quilts but “got bigger” to make them twin sized. Her granddaughter will enjoy cuddling in the purple/pink scrappy quilt, while her grandson will be thrilled with his dinosaur-themed quilt.

  •  Dona Koster showed her completed project from the Hollyhocks Dresden workshop with Candy Grisham in June.  Nicely done, Dona!

  • Nancy Hubbard celebrated our 250th by making this patriotic 8-Star quilt, which she also hand quilted with lots of white space.

  • Janet Finney joined the America 250th Celebration with this table runner featuring 6-point stars. Janet quilted this piece, along with a delightful snowflake quilt that began as a panel.

  • Mimi Benedick showed a pixel-styled quilt from a Tilda pattern of floral design. These unique fabrics were all hand-dyed by Mimi.

  • Kay Scheffer has caught the Sashiko bug and shared a navy blue with white embroidery table topper. Kay also shared a quilt called "Going to the Garden Center," a modern quilt design with purple, green, blue, black and white fabrics.

  • Susan Arnett showed several creations beginning with another patriotic table topper, followed by a large patriotic wall hanging with 8-point stars and a flange binding. Another wall hanging was made from a Kimberbell block of the month, featuring a variety of houses. Lastly, Susan shared her first longarm project, a quilt with purples, greens, and pinks. We have so many talented longarmers in the guild!

  • Susan Hull was a guild visitor this month and brought a lovely pastel floral quilt in sage and pale pink to share. This quilt was a gift to her mom when she moved into assisted living.

  • Lana Arpin's Quilt of Valor features America 250 on one side and God Bless America on the other with a “fake flange” binding (she said it was very easy and all machine stitched), This quilt will be presented to her nephew, a veteran.
