January 2026 Show and Share
Wowzers! The machines have been humming as KPQG members stitched up a wondrous amount of beautiful objects to share at our January meeting. Here we go...remember that you can click on the thumbnail to view the full image of each item in the gallery.
-Janet Finney's philanthropic spirit was shining in the completion of these four vintage blocks and borders, which will be part of the Onaga Quilt Turning. The quilt will then be raffled as a fundraiser for Feed the Children. Thank you, Janet!
-Lynn Colquhoun's 2025 Block of the Month quilt featured a center panel with the 12 blocks arranged around it for a new take on setting the BOM.
-Ronna Robertson has had fun making bowls in a variety of fabrics and sizes. Ronna is also a member of the Fiber Arts Club in Manhattan and created these cute wool hearts at a recent workshop.
-Whitney Short's divided panels feature embroidered lyrics from the classic seasonal song, "Over The River and Through the Woods." Her selection of fabric for the sashing and borders accents the vintage feel of the panels.
-Marjorie Devlin's first item features young barn animals peeking around the black and white background in sweet baby quilt. Marjorie also showed a bright, floral table runner or wall hanging that she can check off her UFO list. Finally, Marjorie had the creative idea to recycle her husband K-State shirt into an apron, modeled by Ginny Petersen.
-Carla Williams' used piecing and applique' in her quilt called Boardwalk. You will need to zoom in to see her detailed work in this beauty!
-Dona Koster's quilt also features applique'; this time wool on cotton. This lovely wall hanging has some exquisite stitching, so this is another quilt to enlarge and admire the detail within, both in the stitching and the tiny hidden elements in each block.
-Sharon Johns has accented the majestic eagle panel with a variety of blocks with some fussing cutting from other patriotic fabric. This quilt will be donated to our collection of Quilts of Valor to be awarded to a veteran. Thank you, Sharon!
-Laura Soelter's quilt offers us a new take on the classic Dresden Fan pattern. These dainty fans are precisely set in alternating rows. Don't you just want to pluck one off and fan yourself? Okay, maybe not on a cold January day.)
-Ruth Prescott's colorful pinwheel quilt is a feast for the eyes! Note the detail and the carefully aligned blocks. Ruth admits this was one of the more difficult quilts she has made. Congratulations, Ruth! It's a beauty!
-Mary Hibbs was also channeling pinwheels in her quilt with shades if lavender and green. Kudos to Mary as this is the first quilt that she has completed on her recently acquired longarm.!
-Michelle Crisler's red, white, and blue quilt required careful planning of each block and equally careful placement of each block to achieve the intertwining crazy path of this quilt. She said she definitely needed her design wall to be sure the blocks were accurately placed..
- Alison McCullough's 2025 Block of the Month Quilt featured fun, coordinated fabric. Here is another zoom moment to see the tiny prints in her blocks.
