October: Klonda Holt: My Quilting Journey

Klonda Holt discovered the art of quilting in 1990. She said, "When I first began, I had no idea of how my life would change or the joy I would find while creating art using textiles."
Arrow Rock website.

With her accumulated knowledge and skill, Klonda has become a teacher herself as a regular presenter at Arrow Rock Quilt Retreat in Missouri and at KC Maker Studio in Shawnee, Kansas.

Klonda's program featured an array of brightly colored quilts from designers Shelly Brunswick, Some Kind of Wonderful, Jane Kennedy, Karen Stone, Candy Grisham , Tula Pink, Chrisopher Wendholt, and Mandy Murphy to name a few.

Klonda loves paper-piecing, and you will see that reflected in the quilts that shared.  Don't forget to try to count the blocks in her blue and gray Dear Jane quilt...225 in all. And after that, she had the energy to add a triangle paper-pieced border. Impressive! Klonda is shown here posing before her Wing quilt. She can really soar!
